Katrina has over 25 years experience in contaminated land management, with a focus on strategic and large asset portfolios. Her work spans environmental site assessment, soil and groundwater remediation, remediation options assessment, soil vapour and indoor air, hydrogeological characterisation, groundwater fate and transport, waste classification and risk assessment.
Katrina takes a strategic, whole of lifecycle approach to complex contamination issues. Her focus is on land acquisition and divestment, asset repurposing and liability reduction, using multi criteria assessment of cost, time and stakeholder impact to set site risk, remedial options and management priorities. She has particular expertise in the sustainable remediation of former gasworks, power stations, LPG depots and service stations, covering VOCs, PFAS, metals, hydrocarbons and NAPL in soil, groundwater, surface water, air and soil vapour. She is also experienced in contaminated land EPA audits, and in embedding environmental liability into corporate financial provisioning.
Katrina has directed investigation and remediation projects valued at more than $150 million and managed multi-site programs across more than 40 sites. Her work has covered New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia, spanning the energy, government, property and development, and upstream oil and gas sectors.
