Building The Foundation
Founded as EIAS by Anthony Caruana and another director, as an online database for storage of contamination and hazardous materials information.
Innovating & Evolving
From 2005 to 2010 the company moved from Environmental and OHS IT to consulting as part of their services. Anna Caruana joined the team as CFO.
Changing Directions
EIAS split and Anthony Caruana continued the consulting services arm, whilst the IT work was taken on by the other director.
New Begininngs
Newly formed as Edge Group in 2010 with 4 employees in a small converted house in Port Melbourne.
Acquisitions & Growth
Consulting company S3G Victoria was acquired in 2011 and added service lines to the business. Key asset Enzo De Fazio joined Edge and is still working in the business today.
Diversification
Over the next 8 years the business grew into different sectors and areas of expertise, including hiring another key asset, Peter Southern, who became Edge Group’s GM.
Innovation
The company grew to circa 40 people, with multiple service lines around the core offerings of contaminated land, asbestos/hazardous materials, environment and health, safety and occupational hygiene.
Partner Organisations
In 2022 we launched our “Bridging Program” enabling team members to experience local and multinational roles within partner organisations, which has seen team members enjoy NZ, with California scheduled later in 2023.
Moving Forward
Our bridging program has also seen NZ and California team members join our Melbourne office. We continue to innovate and pursue best practice in everything we do, including our technology, culture and values.

Helia EHS
Helia EHS is an Australian owned and operated consultancy business. We provide environmental and safety consultancy services to the public and private sectors. We have qualified practitioners in environmental and safety consulting, with particular expertise in: soil, surface water, groundwater and soil vapour assessment; contaminated land management; indoor and ambient air quality; noise assessment; management systems and asbestos / hazardous material identification and management.
To reflect our continued efforts to decentralise management and skillsets and ensure all team members have the opportunity to expand from “just” consultants, we continually invest in project management, financial reporting, people management and client liaison to all team members.

Helia EHS is an Australian business that has been nurtured and developed by company directors who have extensive experience in the OH&S and environmental sectors. Helia has provided environmental and safety management services to a large variety of clients across Australia, from residential home owners, to councils and large national corporations.
Founded in 2005 and continually innovating and following a path of growth, we are proud that Helia is externally certified for the following three management systems: Quality (ISO 9001: 2015), Environmental (ISO 14001: 2015) and OH&S (AS/NZS 4801: 2001)
