The design and implementation of remediation actions plans addressing petroleum hydrocarbon releases associated with an underground petroleum storage system at the active works depot. Works have been conducted under environmental audit in planning for redevelopment of the site to a sensitive use, and have included waste soil categorisation, soil vapour and groundwater monitoring, including fate and transport modelling of a dissolved phase plume.

Remediation actions have included UPSS removal and validation, development of a groundwater remediation feasibility study as part of remediation action plan, and MPVE (multi phase vapour extraction). The site’s assessment and remediation efforts have been guided by EPA Environmental Audit standards.
