SUMMARY

Helia EHS have partnered with Riverlee for environmental management of the New Epping development since 2015. Built atop a disused landfill and quarry, the site presented multiple complex environmental challenges.

The team at Helia EHS devised a strategy to unlock the land value working to “re-engineer nature” and develop and implement a plan to meet achievable aspirational sustainability goals and overall community improvement (including residential dwellings on the Site today).

As part of the complex investigation, overseen by an EPA Auditor, Helia EHS has undertaken monitoring and management of soil, groundwater, surface water, leachate and landfill gas at the Site. Helia continues to monitor certain environmental parameters (including landfill gas, groundwater and surface water) as part of the (ongoing) strict environmental management of this Site.
